Event Description: THEATRE: Sahitya Kala Parishad, Department of Art, Culture and Languages, Government of Delhi Cordially invite you for the Bharatendu Natya Utsav.

The 6-day long festival has been celebrated annually for the past more than 3 decades where they encourage and provide a platform to new and innovative trends in performing arts. The plays will represent our lives and times and each play has a social message. This annual festival is a platform to actors, directors and playwrights to showcase their art to theatre lovers who yearn for good visual performances. 

Talking about the event, Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, said, “The festival is being celebrated for over three decades now and with all the support and talent we hope to continue for more decades to come. Our objective is to provide a platform to the upcoming talents in the field of Hindi theatre. I wish the best to each and every talent and may their flair be recognised worldwide.”

Schedule: 
Each day one play will be showcased. 
On the first day, Seediyan will be presented directed by Arvind Singh. 

On the second day, Pratibha Singh directed the play ‘Ram Ki Shakti Pooja’ will be performed. Great Hindi poet Suryakant Tripathi Nirala has written this in a poem format in the year 1936 with the war background of famous Indian epic Ramayana. 

This will be followed by ‘A journey of Romeo Juliet’ will be shown on the third day which is directed by Manoj Kumar Tyagi. The play talks about how an actor the concepts of life, liberation, freedom etc. 

The festival will continue ‘Sheeshe Ke Khilone’ on the fourth day directed by Govind Singh Yadav. Originally written by Tennessee Williams as ‘The Glass Menagerie’. 

On the fifth day, Kajal Soias directed play Ardh Kavya will be performed. 

The event will come to an end on the 6th day with Prem Kabootar which is about the era of school days, those teenage love affairs, romance in the air, And completely following and implementing Hindi cinema. The play directed by Sameep Singh.
