Event Description: Australian Classical Guitarists Grigoryan Brothers Return to Enthral Audiences in Delhi
After performing in India in 2009 and 2010, the Grigoryan Brothers are back for the third time with performances lined up in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata this month.
Slava and Leonard Grigoryan, performing professionally as a duo for 16 years, are popular for the breadth of their repertoire embracing genres such as classical, jazz and contemporary music from around the world. They have been touring internationally since 2003 and have been performing regularly in Russia, Austria, Estonia, Japan, Malaysia, South Africa, the Middle East, and in the UK, where they had their Wigmore Hall debut in 2006.
Coming from an eclectic musical background, improvisation has always been an important part of their musical language. Their passion is to expand the classical guitar repertoire through new arrangements, commissions and collaborations with contemporary composers as well as their own compositions.
Between them, they have received 3 ARIA awards (Australian Recording Industry Association) and an incredible 24 ARIA Award nominations. As a duo, they have recorded 11 albums.
