Event Description: A public lecture hosted by WWF India and Foundation for Contemplation of Nature by Dr. John Hausdoerffer exploring how people can become attuned to the wild community of life and also contribute to the well-being of the wild places in which we live, work, and play.
John Hausdoerffer is the Dean of the School of Environment and Sustainability at Western Colorado University. He is also the co-founder of numerous organisations, including the Mountain Resilience Coalition, the Resilience Studies Consortium, and Coldharbour Institute.
Throughout his life, Dr. Hausdoerffer’s dedication to peace has been driven by this question: What does the good life look like if all people are considered as part of an equal humanity and if all species are considered as persons?
Wildness, edited by Gavin Van Horn and John Hausdoerffer, charts a different path. It brings together esteemed authors from a variety of landscapes, cultures, and backgrounds to share their stories about the interdependence of everyday human lifeways and wildness.
