Come, join us for a night walk on #GivingTuesdayIndia October 8, 2019 and stand in solidarity for the rights of street children.

About the issue

Street children constitute one of the most vulnerable groups in Delhi. Approximately 51,000 children below 18 years of age were enumerated as street children according to a study conducted by Human Development (IHD) & Save the Children.

Children living on the streets lack access to education, hygienic and nutritious food, and healthcare and are often exploited and abused in various forms.

Through the Night Walk, we want to take you through the journey of street children and their struggle to claim their rights. The Night Walk on #GivingTuesdayIndia also provides you an opportunity to engage with the children and provide support for their safe shelter, education, food and clothing.

About the Night Walk

The Night Walk is undertaken during the night when most of the people finish off their days work and recede back to their secure homes and these children are left alone on the streets to battle
through the evils of night.

The Night Walk has been organised in the past too and provides a great exposure to learn about the life of those who live in such vulnerable conditions.

Your participation in this walk will do a great deal in helping the street children of Delhi. It would be really great if you could pass this message to your friends and bring them along as well so that we can create awareness amongst masses.

Essential Points for joining the Night Walk:
1) Please do not take photographs of children
2) Indian attire or jeans with full sleeved shirt/top is recommended to wear during the night walk.
3) Kindly do not give money to any children on the streets.
