“In acting, you have to become an Other. I realized that in judging too the judge is constantly required to understand how the other feels. In my “sharing” I will speak of how I came into law and to judging. I will speak about a few cases where understanding the other was very important, sometimes for arriving at the decision, sometimes for my own evolution. Two examples would be the Compulsory license case and the Homemaker’s case, that is the poor who is an Other in the health care sphere and the Woman who is also an Other.”
