Event Description : TALK "While India goes to the Polls in 2019: Where does Residential real estate go?"
With the build-up to 2019 polls, there is a lot at stake for the country that will have an impact on the national economy and real estate sector. Due to aggressive speculative new launches, weak delivery mechanism, and poor corporate governance, the last decade has seen a large stockpile of unfinished residential projects. This has resulted in demonstrations from angry home buyers and many legal battles ending with many developers behind bars. There are many questions that need to be answered - what will happen to these incomplete projects, do we have the political will and regulatory framework to resolve this. Most important have we learnt from the past, and that this will not happen again in the future
Panel members will include a broker, developer, home buyer representative, NBCC and lawyer
Chair: Prof. Anupam Saxena, Associate Dean and Director, School of Real Estate
Collaboration: RICS School of Built Environment
