Event Description : MUSIC : HCL Concerts Presents "Samarpan" Anthology of Indo-Western Tunes - Classical Jazz

SAMARPAN is a band comprising six young artists, whose music tries to marry the traditionally rich Indian classical music with western Jazz music. As the name suggests, it is an attempt to surrender to the musical ethos. 

Band members of Samarpan:

NINAD MULAOKAR (Flute):  Ninad is a gifted artist with an extravagant talent. He has won many laurels, to name a few: SURMANI by Sursingar Samsad, Pt.Pulaskar award, First in All India Radio Classical Music Competition, 'A' grade from All India Radio, and many more. Presently, he is learning from Anand Kashikar and Vijay Sardeshmukh from Mumbai. Ninad has two solo albums to his credit. He has performed with Ust. Rashid Khan, Hariharan, Sivamani, Pankaj Udhas, Bhupendra Mitali Singh, Talat Aziz and many others.

MANAS KUMAR (Violin): Manas Kumar is an All India Radio 'A' grade artist, having done his Masters in Music from Lucknow. He has been bestowed upon with the SURMANI title by Sur Singar Samsad, besides the Pt. V.D. Paluskar award, and has received the CCRT scholarship as well as the Senior Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Govt.of India, and many more. Presently he is learning from Pt.Bidyut Misra. Manas has two solo albums to his credit. He has also performed with Pankaj Udhas, Bhupendra Mitali Singh, Talat Aziz and many others. 

GAUTAM SHARMA (Percussions): Gautam Sharma is a student of the percussion maestro Ustad Taufiq Qureshi. He has also been performing with him in his band 'Mumbai Stamp' at various music festivals. He has performed with some of the biggest names in the Indian Music Industry such as Kailash Kher, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shalmali Kholgade, Niladri Kumar, Ranjit Barot, Pt Ajay Pohankar, Lesle Lewis, Ravi Chary and many others. He has recorded live percussions for Music Directors like Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Pritam, Vishal Shekher, Meet Brothers, Anand Raj Anand and others. Gautam is an integral part of the fusion band 'Samarpan'. He believes in experimenting with different styles and genres, hence, he has been collaborating with Dj's, Theatre groups, different forms of Dance and much more.

OJAS ADHIYA (TABLA): Ojas, a child prodigy, was a performing artist in Kalyanji Anandji's "Little Wonders" and has performed almost 500 stage shows globally. Ojas started learning Tabla at a tender of 5 from Shri Mridangraj. Ojas is a Limca Book of Records holder as the youngest Tabla player of India, has got Pt. V.D Paluskar Award, First class First in state level Music competition award conferred by Governor of Maharashtra S.M Krishna, and many more. Ojas was fortunate to accompany all the stalwarts in the field of classical and ghazal music viz: Santoor Meastro Pt. Shivkumar Sharma, Flute Maestro Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ust. Rais Khan, Pt. Satish Vyas, Ustad Shujaat Khan, Begum Parween Sultana, Ustad Rashid Khan, Vikku Vinayakram, Sivamani, George Brooks, Ghazal singer Ustad Hussain Baksh from Pakistan, Ghulam Ali, Hariharan, Anup Jalota, Talat Aziz and many others. 

VISHAL DHUMAL (Keyboards): Vishal did his first assignment as a music director at the age of 19 for an album sung by Suresh Wadkar, Sonu Nigam, Devki Pandit and others. He has performed with all the top notch artistes such as Trilok Gurtu, Sivamani, Taufiq Qureshi, Fazal Qureshi, Selvaganesh, Ustad Rashid Khan, Late Jagjit Singh, Ghulam Ali, Hariharan, Anup Jalota, Bhupendra Mitali Singh and many others.

I.D. RAO (Saxophone): He is a versatile player. At a very young age, he has developed himself as a Saxophonist and has very good command in his instrument as he can play Carnatic style, Hindustani Style and Western style very well. ID performs with leading Bollywood artistes as well.
