Event Description : TALK "Avalokitesvara Goes to China: Gender and Buddhist Art" by Prof. Yuhan Li, Assistant Professor of Chinese Art, Department of Art History, University of Wisconsin-Madison. 

Her research interests cover a wide range of subjects and mediums related to gender and material practice in late imperial China, such as the cult of Guanyin and gendered image making, mimesis and devotional practice, textile art, opera and Chinese visual culture
