Event Description : TALK "Cosmopolitan Aesthetics of Empire: Arts, Politics, and Commerce in the Construction of Sultan Süleyman's Magnificence". 

The lecture highlights the generally overlooked cosmopolitanism of visual court culture prior to the mature “classical” Ottoman idiom associated with Sultan Süleyman’s reign after the mid-1540s.
