About the artists :

Rachna Toshniwal: An artist and environmentalist, Rachna’s creative expressions are usually drawn from nature and her findings therein. For Rachna Toshniwal, art is a way to more deeply understand the Self, Nature, the inner workings of the mind, the environment we live in, the natural world, and the consciousness of being – are at the root of her work. Rachna had her first solo show of paintings (acrylic on canvas) in 2014 at the Bajaj Gallery. She has since been exploring print-making processes which take off from her painting techniques and effects. Rachna uses monoprinting and collage techniques to capture her chance findings in the world we live in.

Annuradha Toshniwal: Annuradha Toshniwal began her artistic journey as an experiment. First picking up the brush 7 years ago, she started by painting fabric and furniture in her characteristic bold brush strokes and colours. She was introduced to the art of Zen Tangle several years later and brought her characteristic experimental style to the art form, carving a niche for herself within it. She is the author of a vegetarian cookbook called ‘A Kaleidoscope of Sensory Delights’, the artwork for which was done by her daughter, Rachna.

Asha Daga: 76 year old Asha Daga has been passionate about art throughout her life. Forms of Ajanta and Ellora were her first attempts at drawing that moved her towards art. In 1956, at Shankar’s Art Contest, her watercolour landscape won her a prize that was awarded to her by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Her main source of inspiration is nature and she has painted in various mediums including water colour, acrylic, and oil. She has been exploring the Zen style of pen and ink drawings for the past two years and had her first show at the Government Art College, Chandigarh, in March 2017.

Vidur Sodhani: Vidur Sodhani is an avid traveller and across his adventures, his camera has been a constant companion. His preferred subjects include people, nature and architecture. Since his early foray into photography in the 1990s, he prefers to shoot with his old-school fully manual camera. Vidur aims to use his photographic eye to capture life using simple techniques of light and motion.
