Event Description : Toxics Link is pleased to invite you to a Public Lecture on ‘Plastic pollution: Is the crisis deeper than you know and how can India combat it?’. The Public Lecture will try to provide a deeper understanding amongst the audience about the very serious issue of plastic pollution. It will also try to examine the existing policies, regulations, the role of enforcing agencies in tackling the problem and the way forward on India’s green future. The Lecture shall look at beating plastic pollution through civic engagement and the initiatives taken by civil society organisations with regard to the problem too.  

The speakers are:
1. Ravi Agarwal, chairman of the environment committee of the All India Plastic Industries Association
2. Dr Suneel Pandey Director, Environment & Waste Management Division, TERI.
3. Dr. Shyamala Mani, Professor, National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA).
4. Priti Mahesh, Chief Programme Coordinator at Toxics Link.

The session will be moderated by Mr. Satish Sinha (Associate Director, Toxics Link)
