Event Description : DOC FILM : FD Zone Delhi presents A selection of documentaries produced by Films Division between 1950 – 1975, which open a window into the industrial landscape of new India and in particular express the State’s concerns around the figure of the striking factory worker.

Films : 

Man-Power Banks (English/1950/10mins) Dir.VR Sarma & A Joint Endeavour (English/1963/10mins) Dir.SNS Sastry 
Highlights the harmful effects of strikes and emphasises the need for settlement of disputes through arbitration and negotiations.

The Mica Miner (English/1963/9mins)

Shows the life of a Mica miner, and how the State attempts to improve his life.

An Assessment (English/1971/5mins)

Deals with the present industrialization in Calcutta. Newspaper reports seem to suggest that the capital is flying away from West Bengal and creating a grave crisis on the industrial scene.
