Event Description : To Mark International Women’s Day 2016, 12TH IAWRT Asian Women's Film Festival

The 12th edition of the festival will showcase the work of women filmmakers of Asian origin bringing a rich and diverse collection of films from 13 countries including Bangladesh, India, Israel, Myanmar, Philippines, Portugal, South Korea, Syria, Taiwan, Turkey, U.K., USA and Vietnam. The festival includes a selection of 47 films and sound works; a seminar and an exhibition Screenings will be held in the Auditorium on 3, 4 and 5 March 2016 from 09:30 onwards. Some of the highlights include A Felicitation of Dr. Vijaya Mulay by Dr. Kapila Vatsyayan, Chairperson, IIC International Research Division; screening of much acclaimed films such as Tazreen (Bangaldesh) by Yasmine Kabir; Song of the Horned Owl (India) by Manju Borah; Haunted (Syria) by Liwaa Yazji; The Barber (Myanmar) by Anna Biak Tha Mawi; So Close, So Far, The Ancestral Forest (Vietnam) by Doan Hong Le; Daughters of Cordillera (Philippines) by Ilang-Ilang Quijano; and Hey Neighbour! (Turkey) by Bingol Elmas; among others. Screenings will be followed by discussions with directors present
