Event Description: In 'Expecting! प्रत्याशा!' Bhagyam Arts & Ideas invites you to an evening of Bharatanatyam and Kathak presentations on themes entirely new to the traditional, and, indeed, modern, dance repertoire. 

'Expecting! प्रत्याशा!' में Bhagyam Arts & Ideas आपको भरतनाट्यम और कथक प्रस्तुतियों की एक शाम में आमंत्रित करते हैं, जो पारंपरिक और आधुनिक नृत्य शैलियों के लिए बिल्कुल नए विषयों पर आधारित हैं। 

We have Bharatanatyam artist, Dakshina Vaidynathan Baghel, presenting in, 'Ayoga Vaatsalya', the anticipation and excitement of a pregnant mother, while herself pregnant. To have an expecting dancer perform on stage is in of itself a radical departure, inversion even, from the conventional aesthetics of dance, and ideas of female beauty, especially the beauty of a female dancer. 

भरतनाट्यम कलाकार, दक्षिणा वैद्यनाथन बघेल, 'अयोग वात्सल्य' में एक गर्भवती माँ की प्रत्याशा और उत्साह को प्रस्तुत करेंगी, जबकि वह स्वयं गर्भवती हैं। एक गर्भवती नर्तकी का मंच पर प्रदर्शन करना अपने आप में ही नृत्य के पारंपरिक सौंदर्यशास्त्र और नारी सौंदर्य, विशेष रूप से महिला नर्तकी के सौंदर्य की धारणाओं से, एक क्रांतिकारी बदलाव है - इसे हम एक उलटफेर भी कह  सकते हैं। 

Then, we have Kathak artist, Mayukh Bhattacharyya, presenting the excitement of a father over his first-born, clashing with the almost other-worldly and apparently exclusive primal bond between mother and infant. 

इसके बाद, कथक कलाकार, मयूख भट्टाचार्य, एक पिता के अपने प्रथम संतान के प्रति उत्साह को प्रस्तुत करेंगे, जो माँ और शिशु के बीच अलौकिक और अनन्य आदिम बंधन से टकराता है। 

What makes this show exciting for all (and not just new parents) is the treatment by the artists of these themes by deploying the motifs and aesthetic concepts of traditional Indian dance, such as viraha, sringara rasa and adbhuta rasa in their presentations, with novel and unexpected results.

इस शो को सभी के लिए (और केवल नए माता-पिता के लिए ही नहीं) रोमांचक बनाने वाली बात यह है कि कलाकार इन विषयों को पारंपरिक भारतीय नृत्य की शैलियों और सौंदर्य अवधारणाओं, जैसे कि विरह, श्रृंगार रस और अद्भुत रस, का उपयोग करके अनोखे और अप्रत्याशित परिणाम प्रस्तुत करते हैं।
