Event Description: SHIVAARGHYA, A Festival of Male Dancers by Ganesa Natyalaya

Conceived under the visionary guidance of late Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan and curated by Rama Vaidyanathan, the festival brings together performers from seven diverse dance forms. In a cultural sphere where women have long dominated the stage, Shivaarghya offers a rare and vital platform for men to showcase their devotion, discipline, and grace. By foregrounding masculine expression within classical aesthetics, the festival not only honours tradition but also expands its horizons, ensuring inclusivity and balance. 

About Ganesa Natyalaya: Ganesa Natyalaya was started in 1974 by Padma Bhushan Awardee Guru Dr Saroja Vaidyanathan, and the current Natyalaya building came up in 1988. The institute boasts of many Indian and Western Students and was the first dedicated Bharatanatyam institute in Delhi. Its choreographies and productions have been showcased all over India and abroad to much critical acclaim. Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan has won numerous awards for her contribution to this classical Indian Dance form.
