Pancham Nishad presents “Tuka Mhane Kahe Kabira” — a one-of-a-kind evening of devotional and spiritual music that celebrates the timeless philosophies of Sant Tukaram and Sant Kabir.
Though separated by centuries, regions, and languages, Sant Tukaram and Sant Kabir remain united in spirit — one rooted in devotion to Lord Vithoba (Saguna Bhakti), the other immersed in the formless divine (Nirguna Bhakti). Tukaram’s Abhangas express everyday devotion and surrender, while Kabir’s verses reveal piercing truths about life and the self with disarming simplicity. Despite their humble origins — Tukaram as a trader, Kabir as a weaver — both transformed ordinary life into a path to the divine.
In this unique musical dialogue, Ranjani-Gayatri will present the soulful Abhangwani of Sant Tukaram, while Bhuvanesh Komkali will render the profound Kabirwani. Together, they will weave two timeless voices into one transcendent conversation through music.
Guiding the audience through the philosophical essence of both saints will be Dr. Dhanashree Lele, offering deep insights and narration in Hindi. The ensemble also features accomplished co-artistes — Mandar Puranik (Tabla), Dnyaneshwar Sonawane (Harmonium), Krushna Salunke (Pakhwaj), Rishabh Prasanna (flute) and Anurodh Jain (Additional Rhythms).
It is a refreshing experience to be part of this very novel concept of Tuka Mhane Kahe Kabira, which presents the compositions of two great saints of Bharat- Tukaram and Kabir. As the concert will alternate between the Sagun bhakti of Tukaram and the Nirguni bhajans of Kabir, the differing perspectives will highlight the core spiritual quest that is shared by both, expressed by the vibrant and soulful music and lyrics. When we sing Tukaram Abhangas, we realize that these songs are not just devotional verses, but emotional outpourings that express the eternal struggle of human life and the faith that carries one through the struggle. We don't merely sing, to us, it is surrender, it is upliftment, and it is to experience the highest form of divinity. Said Ranjani-Gayatri.
“Kabir’s poetry exposes truth with fearless clarity. His words challenge, awaken, and liberate. To present Kabirwani on such a stage is both a responsibility and a joy,” said Bhuvanesh Komkali.
Shashi Vyas, Founder-Director of Pancham Nishad, shared: “Kabir and Tukaram may differ in language, geography, and bhakti traditions, but their core message is one—the eternal search for truth. Through ‘Tuka Mhane Kahe Kabira,’ we aim to weave their voices into a single musical dialogue, interspersed with studious narration by Dr. Dhanashree Lele,
