Event Description: Established in 1938 by Kulpati K.M.Munshi at the instance of Mahatma Gandhi, Bhavan, the premier institution of India, is celebrating 87 years of distinguished service to promote art and culture.

As a tribute to its Founder, Dr K.M. Munshi, and to mark its Foundation Day, since 2009, Bhavan’s, Delhi Kendra has been organising the ‘Sangeet Samaroh’, an annual event, in the first week of November, presenting different musical genres in performing arts through some of the country’s leading exponents from the field of Indian music and dance.

Like in the previous years, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Delhi Kendra will confer the coveted annual Bhavan’s Sangeet Shkhar Samman award to a designated artiste for distinguished services and achievements of a lifetime.

Over the last 16 years, Bhavan has hosted over 82 eminent artists and has conferred the “Bhavan’s Sangeet Shikhar Samman” on 18 iconic artists.

Bhavan’s Delhi Kendra will conduct the 17th Sangeet Samaroh at Kamani Auditorium. This year's Sangeet Samaroh will feature two highly acclaimed Dance artists of India. Vidushi Madhulita Mohapatra, along with Sahana Maiya and Paridhi Joshi, will present Odissi dance themed as Bhava and Bhakti - sacred steps of devotion. The second program of the evening will feature Vidushi Vidha Lal Kathak. Both artists are recipients of the prestigious Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar Award from the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi.

Shri Banwari Lal Purohit, Trustee & Vice President, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Chairman, Delhi Kendra, will preside over in the august presence of the Guest of Honour, Justice Nitin Wasudeo Sambre, Delhi High Court.
