Event Description: Aravali Film Festival in collaboration with Alliance Française de Delhi invite you to the screening 'Rabia and Olivia'

Join us for a special screening of Rabia and Olivia, an award-winning Indo-Canadian film that explores themes of motherhood, migration, and emotional healing through the lens of an unexpected bond between two individuals from vastly different worlds.

The screening will be followed by an interactive Q&A session with director Shadab Khan and his crew, offering insights into the filmmaking process and the real-life inspirations behind the story.

Synopsis
Rabiya, a 24-year-old woman, migrates illegally to Canada seeking refugee status. She finds work as a caretaker for Olivia, a 9-year-old girl battling emotional trauma. As Rabiya brings warmth and compassion into Olivia’s life, the child begins to heal, forming a deep bond with her caregiver. However, when Rabiya stops Olivia’s medication based on her intuition, it sparks a legal and emotional crisis that tears them apart. What follows is a gripping and emotional journey that questions the boundaries of care, responsibility, and love. The film culminates in an inspiring climax that reaffirms the human spirit’s ability to overcome adversity.
