Event Description: In remembrance of Mahatma Gandhi's approaching birth anniversary, Bhagyam Arts & Ideas presents "Gandhi Leela", a dance-drama with dance, music, drama, live art, recitation, pantomime and kathputli, all skillfully woven into a single compact play that tells the story of Mahatma Gandhi. The production is blilingual in English & Hindi, with lyrical poetry and powerful dialogue. The story is told in the traditional natya style with sutradhars, actors, dancers and singers. The show's colourful and diverse ensemble of artists is an ode to India itself. The artists include well-known actors Joy Sengupta & Rajesh Kumar, Bharatnatyam dancers Shreyasi Gopinath and Swarnali Kundu, Kathakali artist Akash Mallik and Kathak dancer Mayukh Bhattacharya. The musical score is by Ustad Arif Ali Khan of the Kairana Gharana.
