Event Description: Soulful Sojourn - A kaleidoscopic journey through the heart & mind

Anurag Anand's art exhibition, Soulful Sojourn, takes connoisseurs on a captivating journey through artworks from three different series- Building Blocks, Code Un-code and Nature Milange.

Building Blocks, the first series, is a collection of landscapes depicting varied topographies and geographical features. From Indian cities to international destinations, and from urban centres to rural backdrops, the artworks transport onlookers to a place they have once seen, and which now remains etched in some distant crevice of their memory. And Anurag achieves this feat without resorting to explicit cues or tell-tale structures. 

The series, Code Un-code, is based around human connections and their underlying emotions. The artist uses vibrant colours and bold images to tell human stories with each artwork. From the need to find joy in the little things that surround us, to a very contextual take on the impact of technology on our lives, these artworks are unique in their choice of subject as well as treatment. 

Nature Milange, the third series is a quirky take on one of the most harmless and aesthetic offerings of nature – flowers. 

About Anurag Anand:

Anand is an artist, an author of thirteen books, a columnist and a corporate professional. He considers himself a student of life and expresses his observations, understanding and responses to the triggers that surround us in his works. Much like his writings, his visual creations are anchored in their relatability and versatility of treatment. He believes that the thought behind each artwork makes it unique, and the diktats of palette or style only restrain creativity. His choice of subjects pan across teachings from ancient Indian texts to the crude beauty of nature, and from the interplay of human emotions to the stativity of the present. His preferred medium is acrylic on canvas or paper.

As a self-taught artist, Anurag likes to experiment with mediums in shaping his creations. Acrylics and Oil however, happen to be his mediums of choice. His creations are often stark, evocative and provocative. They compel onlookers to pause, engage and decipher.

Anurag has won several awards for his pursuits, from the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Award for Corporate Excellence in 2016 to Role Players – 2019 by the World Training & Development Congress. He is also a contributing writer for several leading publications.
