Event Description: Incredible India, Solo Art Show by 'Mina' (Mrs. Wilhelmina Quaynor)

Artist's Note: I am Wilhelmina Quaynor (also known as MINA for my artwork). I have always had a passion for Art and the creative industries.  I graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Kumasi in Ghana in 1988 with  BA Hons in Fine Art.  I exhibited my work in several venues both solo and in group exhibitions.
I won first prize for a National Art Exhibition in Ghana called "Save the Seashore Birds" in 1989, after which I was recognised as a professional artist.
I was invited by the producer of a national TV programme  "Living Arts" where I was the hostess of the TV programme for interviewing and promoting Artists. I was also a member of other art radio broadcasts till I left Ghana to join my husband in the United Kingdom.

I put my Art career on hold whilst I was bringing up my family. I pursued a career as a Career Advisor and Coach till my children became adults.

I usually paint in oils and watercolours.  I love nature hence my passion for landscapes.  Most of my work are landscapes with a few abstract works,

I decided to pick up my artistic skills, where I left off during my career break in India by enrolling on an Art Course with Delhi Collage of Art in 2021, when my husband was posted to India New Delhi to work with the British High Commission. I graduated in 2022 with a Super Professional Diploma in Fine Arts after one year of study. My time at the college enabled me to learn new art mediums including acrylic.  Most of my current works are in acrylic as a result of my new found skills in acrylic.  The fact that it dries very fast suits my painting style.

I am so fascinated with the incredible monuments and sights of India and decided to make an Art collection themed Incredible India using mostly the acrylic medium. I hope I have captured the true incredible sights of India in my acrylic small paintings.
