Event Description: 
Satyagraha, a rendition in dance of Mahatma Gandhi's life and ideals starting with his historic return to India in 1915 from South Africa. A unique choreography in Bharatnatyam and Marga Natya presented by dance duo, Swarnali Kundu and Akash Mallick. Musical accompaniment composed and directed by Ustad Arif Ali Khan of the Kairana Gharana, set to a multilingual selection (including Ashokan Prakrit) of songs, drawn from a diversity of sources that influenced Mahatma Gandhi. Conceptualized and directed by Suranya Aiyar, Founder, Bhagyam Arts and Ideas.
