Event Description: Italian film screenings - 

Celebrating 100 years of Pier Paolo Pasolini - Italian poet, filmmaker, writer and intellectual who also distinguished himself as a journalist, novelist, translator, playwright, visual artist and actor. 

Le Mura di Sana /The Walls of Sana’a ( Short Film /Italy/ Italian/ 1971/16 mins). 
Documentary footage of the city of Sana\'a in Yemen, one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world, with a voice-over calling for UNESCO to protect the city\'s architectural heritage before it is destroyed by development. The Old City of Sana\'a was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. 

Followed by the screening of -

Accattone ( Italy/ Italian/ 1966/116 mins). 
The film explores the world of a young loafer roaming the hardscrabble Roman slum of Pigneto. Vittorio Accattone has never worked a day in his life, and has apparently made a good living using his female companion, Maddalena. But her arrest begins his decline; hungry, he begs from churches. Franco Citti was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Foreign Actor in 1963 for his title role. Introduction of the films by Murtaza Ali Khan, award-winning Film & TV critic and journalist.
