The three superb evening performances namely Unmasked, Abha and Draupadi in Bharatanatyam and Odissi, are rooted in the ancient epics, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, that continue to be told and retold in myriad interesting ways.
In the 21st century, as the traditional dances compete with the ubiquitous dances of Bollywood, we present a rich palette of classical and folk dances that incorporate both style and vigor, glorious costumes and elevating music for the special invitees – the young school-going audience who have been specially invited to watch forms of dance possibly unbeknownst to them, which may give Bollywood gyrations a run for their money.
