ABOUT PROGRAMME

With the announcement of the 75 years celebration of Independence of our country by the Government of India, we have taken the opportunity to launch our programme "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav-2022". We aim to hold the celebration in several phases including online as well as offline events. This ballet based on the Indian Independence shall be performed by eminent artists specially prepared for the theme.

ABOUT URVASHI DANCE MUSIC SOCIETY PRESIDENT DR. REKHA MEHRA

Urvashi Dance Music Art & Cultural Society is a full-swing dedicated organization in the promotion of the Intangible Heritage of Art & Culture of India and utilizing the same for the welfare of the society in the fields of education, health care, child welfare, literacy, family welfare, etc. from last 30 years. Under the adept leadership of Guru Rekha Mehra who is herself a renowned Indian classical Kathak dancer.

Dr. Rekha Mehra Ph.D. Holder in Kathak Dance, Lecturer and Examiner Prayag Sangeet Samiti in Allahabad. Also Praveen (M.A.) in Kathak, Prabhkar in Vocal, Prabhakar in Bharatnatyam and Gold Medalist in Dance from Prayag Sangeet Samiti. She has performed at several National & International festivals. She is a member of various committees and institutions like Vice President of BJP Mahila Morcha (South Delhi), Member of Beti Bachao Beti Padao, Member, Expert of Ministry of Culture & Member of FICCI FLO. She has been associated with many institutes for lectures, demonstrations, workshops on dance, and judgments through Spic Macay. She has also organized expert sessions on personality development, counselling, tailoring skill workshops, and art and craft workshops for underprivileged girls.

She has also delivered complimentary dance workshops with for mentally handicapped children with leading NGOs such as Muskaan and The Centre for Intervention & Research with Applied Behavior Analysis (CRIA).
