Event Description: JAYANTIKA Mayadhar Raut School of Odissi Dance is presenting a three-day festival ANAND UTSAV, celebrating the 90th birthday of the living legend Guru Mayadhar Raut. The Festival brings outstanding talents on one platform making it a great offering for dance and music Rasikas. The inaugural evening will feature stalwarts from the world of music. We will be blessed to hear the Devotional Krithi by Shri Elangovan Govindarajan Ji, Sarangi by Ustad Kamal Sabri Ji and Dhrupad by Ustad F. Wasifuddin Dagar Ji. The Festival will also feature Guru Dr Pitambar Biswal and Lucky Mohanty in Odissi performances. They have specially flown in from Odisha.

Four outstanding young Odissi dancers Dr Sonali Pradhan

Dr Priyanka Venkateswaran, Nitya Pant and Ankita Nayak will showcase their talent. 

Jayantika Mayadhar Raut School of Odissi Dance is fortunate to have Smt. Debjani Chakrabarty IAS, Smt. Shashiprabha Tiwari, the well known Arts critic and Yogacharya Shri Ravishankar Bhatt Tejasvi as the Chief-Guests. 

Immense hard work has gone into organizing the Anand Utsav. 

In the times of virtual festivals, JAYANTIKA  school has gone ahead to present the Festival live for the audience present in person. It will be streamed live on Facebook for those unable to attend. All this with the blessings of Prabhu Jagannath. 

Background - JAYANTIKA Mayadhar Raut School of Odissi Dance is a premier Odissi dance Institute in the capital. For the last five decades, under the guidance of Padmashri Guru Mayadhar Raut, the school has preserved and promoted the Guru Shishya Parampara and trained a galaxy of dancers and Gurus in the grammar of Odissi dance.
