Event Description: THEATRE: BelaTheatre Karwaan presents Deewangunj, Kaash and Ghalib in New Delhi, Hindi Plays

3pm - Deewangunj

Synopsis- Written by the noted satirist & humorist of modern Hindi literature Hari Shankar Parsai, the play is inspired by the story which revolves around the masti of Romeo's in the alley of Deewangunj to impress the local heartthrob of the town with their innovative tricks & proposals.
The play is adapted into situational Bollywood song and dance comedy and the plot progresses with a quirkier narrative which is full of musical nautanki.
Trouble starts with Prem Tiwari amateur stupid lover comes to Deewangunj to his mentor and godfather Monty baba and stumbles upon Chhatri the heartthrob of the town of Deewangunj and falls in love with her. The problem arises when four other ashiques are head over heels in love with the same girl, now he has to go through multiple hurdles and tackle numerous problems to get the girl of his dreams, on top of it the local Don of Deewangunj Janu Khatri is after his life.

5pm - Kaash (Inspired from the stories of Anton Chekhov)
Directed by- Vivek Tyagi
Synopsis- Kaash", A Romantic Comedy Drama based on stories by Anton Chekhov. The Play takes off with an aged couple 'Ishan' and 'Asha', dreaming about a lottery. Whether they win or not ???
The suspense remains within the story, as Ishan decides to take their dreams forward and trying to fathom what will they do with that money. Opening in a very light mood but relaying eventfully into a series of twist and turns, also leading to some other interesting plots.

7pm - Ghalib in New Delhi
Writer & Director: Dr M Sayeed Alam
Synopsis- Welcome to the 501st PERFORMANCE of India’s longest-running comedy – hugely popular, highly acclaimed and widely travelled. The play is an extremely funny account of the 19th-century renowned poet Mirza Ghalib’s re-birth in the 21st century India – his trials, tribulations and travails --  from his birth at the Bus Adda of Delhi to staying in a Servant Quarter with a University Student from Patna to dealing with the Punjaban Land Lady to becoming a Page – 3 celebrity. 
The play features some of the prominent actors of the country; including Himanshu Srivastava, Manish Singh, Dr M Sayeed Alam etc., with Dr Alam essaying the all-important role of Mirza Ghalib.  It has been written and directed by Dr M Sayeed Alam, reputed for his penchant for Humorous, Historical and Historic plays.
