Event Description: Ekani Conscious Market - The 1st Edition

Meet Your Waste: At this market, you will find innovative upcycled and recycled goods as well as alternatives to help you adopt a zero-waste lifestyle.

We will have seed jewellery and natural palm leaf bags, jewellery and accessories made from fabric waste, upcycled saree bags, upcycled wooden décor, 100% natural skincare goodies, recycled and plant-able stationery and many other upcycled and zero-waste wares to pick up.

Some of the vendors: Design5 Studio, The Happy Turtle, Paakshantar, The Yarn Project, bioQ Eco Stationery.

There will be eco games organised by the lovely young farmers of SowGood as well as a Saree Upcycling Workshop for ladies & gents! The workshop, however, is paid for and is a complete learning experience in itself with focus on slow stitching and upcycling.

We are also running a collection camp with association with The Toy Bank as part of the event where kids and parents can donate their old or unused toys which will then be provided to underprivileged kids around the country to help them access play as an educational and leisure activity.

Venue: The SowGood Learning Farm is a simple but beautiful organic farm in South Delhi. This farm is set up and being used as a learning space by the lovely people of SowGood who teach organic farming to children through seasonal courses. They also teach organic farming to students of various Government-run and private-run schools as an after-school or elective subject.

This market is the first of many in an effort towards promoting conscious consumerism and sustainable economies through an emphasis on local production, conscious “waste-free” design and greater emphasis on sharing, repairing and repurposing.

This is a zero-waste space. Please carry your own reusable water bottles, as well as shopping bags. There will be food counters with desi, home-cooked dishes so be sure to carry your own reusable plates and cutlery too! (There will be a facility for washing these items.)
