Event Description: MUSIC FILM: Opera at Habitat Series. Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail or The Abduction from the Seraglio, sung in German with English subtitles

On the 228th death anniversary of Mozart, Sunit Tandon introduces the seminal work of the German language opera repertoire in a production featuring an all-star cast, conducted by the late, great Mozartian, Karl Böhm. The plot concerns the attempt of the hero Belmonte, assisted by his servant Pedrillo, to rescue his beloved Konstanze from the harem of the “Turkish” Pasha Selim, set to memorable music by the 25-year-old composer.
