Event Description: Nature of the City, A Solo Show of Artworks by Alka Jhamb

Delhi based artist, Alka Jhamb, is solely inspired by the city and its architecture, its chaotic and explosive energy and held within the promise of opportunities. All these elements that she uses come together to create a very dynamic quality simulating the collision of tectonic forces that refer to prevailing urban clutter.

There is a definite reference to nature which lies within her choice of the color palette. It is derived mostly from coffee tones browns and sepia. She also uses sunboard and plywood to create an added dimension to the architectural forms on her canvas.
