Event Description : DANCE - Appa Deepo Bhava, Yashodhara, Nartaki, Sujata and Amrapali.
Centre for Indian Classical Dances (CICD) was founded on 30h April, 1977 in Delhi as Centre of learning intrinsic values and techniques of Indian classical dances, music, yoga and Indic cultural traditions. To continue this legacy we are offering a new repertory “Appa Deepo Bhava”: “Be the Light unto yourself” which was the last Upadesh (Sermon) utterance of Buddha before attaining Nirvana.
This production offers a hitherto unrecognized aspect of Buddha’s life by highlighting the role of the four (4) women whose presence proved to be significant at different moments in Siddharth Gautam’s journey to Enlightenment. In the journey from Siddharth to Gautam Buddha, these women appear like stars of the spiritual galaxy.
