Event Description : The Blind Relief Association presents the annual Diwali Bazaar 2019.
This shoppers’ paradise houses over 250 stalls of local vendors exhibiting and selling a wide range of attractive traditional crafts, designer wear, home décor, gardening materials among other diverse gift items.
However, the Bazar is highly popular for the sales of candles, diyas, paper products, cloth bags & pouches made by the visually challenged trainees and workers of the Association. Special attraction of the bazar includes a massage center where one can experience relaxation massage performed by the visually challenged masseurs trained at the Association.
This year, in collaboration with Foster & Forge Foundation, the visually impaired trainees will be managing two stations by themselves, ‘Do it Yourself’ and ‘Story-telling.’ In ‘Do it Yourself’ the trainees will be performing papier-mâché crafts, that are ready for sale immediately and in ‘Story-telling’ the trainees in teams will narrate and enact stories for the visitors.
The Blind Relief Association’s Diwali Bazar is an event for a noble cause. It brings the Association closer to the society and makes people aware of the capabilities and achievements of the visually challenged. The earnings from the Diwali Bazar go towards financing the Association’s diverse services for the visually impaired.
A recipient of National Award, the Blind Relief Association, Delhi is a premier organization in the country serving in the field of education, vocational training and rehabilitation of the blind for nearly seven decades. The Association runs a wide range of activities like senior secondary school for blind boys, a teachers training college, various vocational training programmes besides other supportive services for the visually impaired.
