Event Description : Book launch of the English version of 'La separación', by Silvia Arazi, edited by Yatra Books in the presence of the author (via Skype), the translator, Olga Marino, and the editor, Neeta Gupta.
'The Separation' is an elegant and intimate exploration of a women's life following her separation after fifteen years of marriage. It delves into the psychology of falling in and out of love, familial bonds and social alienation as well as the inner struggle of Lucia, its heroine, as she reflects on how we process loss and grief even around events we have set in motion ourselves. This novel set in Buenos Aires echoes the problematics of men and women in or out of relationships and those who are discovering their inner strength and resourcefulness. Silvia Arazi is a talented storyteller who endows her narrator with an acute and uncompromising gaze and her story with a healthy dose of tenderness and candor.
