Event Description : Hauz Khas Village Social X Inclnk in association with J&B presents Spitfire - Paathshala (EP launch tour) ft. DJ Gagan. Catch the live performance by Spitfire, where the words spoken are soaked in the gasoline of depth and meaning, and then set on fire.
In the world of the written and spoken word, a name like 'Rumi' resonates a certain quality of depth and wordplay. In a contemporary context, SPITFIRE aspires to be as great. The word 'Spit' is slang for the power of the spoken word and the word 'Fire' empowers the words to provoke or destroy anything that stands in his path.
Spitfire has come a long way from surfacing the dust roads of an early teenage to showcasing his flawless poetry on the big screen. His lyrical fluency and way with words became apparent with his contribution to Gully Boy, for which he wrote most of the protagonist, Murad's rap battles.
His debut EP “Paathshala” is about how Spitfire saved Nitin Mishra. The EP speaks of an old wealth of knowledge based on experiential learning that guides us to who we are. Art and expression had once saved Nitin, so he has now found the strength to give back and spit words soaked in truth. You can feel his frustrations and his release juxtaposed in every word, in every song.
Paathshala being IncInk’s first EP release, seamlessly embodies the why behind IncInk.
About Inklnk: IncInk is a music collective founded by filmmaker Navzar Eranee and actor Ranveer Singh, IncInk seeks out and nurtures musicians, poets, painters and film makers. Our long-term aim is to create an infrastructure where artists from different mediums can collaborate without restrictions. By being inclusive, IncInk will provide a megaphone for creative voices.
The music producers behind the distinctive sound of IncInk are siblings Anushka Manchanda a.k.a. Nuka & Shikhar Manchanda a.k.a. RĀKHIS. The duo have unified their love for drum and bass, electronic and metal music, which has given birth to the very new sound at IncInk.
For Nuka, “As musicians, Shikhar and I are constantly evolving, learning and unlearning. The sound at IncInk is an amalgamation of where we come from and where we want to go. We are free to express without boundaries or rules and as artists, this is what excites us the most. We dig dark, dirty, destructive audio, hate to be limited by genres and cannot wait to experiment with the amazing talent on board.”
