TALK "Amir Khusrau: In His Times and Ours" by Shamsur Rahman Faruqi

Widely regarded as the greatest living Urdu writer, Shamsur Rahman Faruqi’s writings on the poet Mir, te world of Urdu Dastans, his editorship of the periodical Shabkhoon and his latest foray into fiction with acclaimed tri-lingual editions of “The Mirror of Beauty” and “The Sun That Rose from the Earth”, are widely regarded as unsurpassed achievements in the field of modern South Asian literature. Faruqi’s lecture will delve into Khusrau’s role in the creation of an Indic sensibility in Indo-Persian and Hindavi literary cultures.
