Event Description : Utsav Educational & Cultural Society-Ranjana’s Odissi Dance Academy shall be present Su-Tarang, 2019 -A Celebration of Odissi Dance, dedicated to World Dance Day by the disciples of Guru Ranjana Gauhar (Padmashree Awardee)
This year, Utsav also completes 32 years of passionate pursuance to preserve, promote and propagate India’s rich cultural heritage through the Guru-Shishya Parampara, under the guidance of Padmashri Awardee, Guru Ranjana Gauhar, Founder President of Utsav Educational and Cultural Society. A celebrated and internationally renowned Odissi artist, she is highly honoured for her valuable and immense contribution to the country’s cultural heritage and has been bestowed with several prestigious awards and recognitions. She is the guiding spirit behind all its activities and initiatives as a Mentor, Guru and Dancer. A cultural ambassador, she has mesmerized audiences with her gaiety, grace and strength in her presentations. Innovative and a visionary, she has skillfully blended the traditional and the contemporary in dance choreographies to produce works that have universal appeal.
At Utsav, she trains, nurtures and guides her disciples to excel not only in dance but in their life too as responsible individuals. The Academy also organizes seminars, festivals, lec-dems and workshops while Utsav’s accomplished repertory continues to charm the world with the mesmerizing beauty of Odissi dance globally.
On the occasion, renowned persons from different genres of art and culture are honoured every year with the Utsav Samman for their contribution towards enriching the cultural heritage of India. This year the recipients of Utsav Samman, 2019 are SNA Awardee Shri Shashadhar Acharya (Chhau), Smt Kamalini Nalini (Kathak) and Shri Saroj Mohantyi (Odissi Music-Vocal).
