 PLÁSTICS ARTS AND ARCHITECTURE Series

Produce, consume and discard. Three linked words that have been the key to economic development, but also to exhaust resources, generate mountains of waste with which we do not know what to do and lead the planet to an unsustainable situation.
That model of life has no future, it is destined to fail, it has years counted. We must adopt drastic measures now.
On the one hand is the responsibility of public bodies, legislating and organizing society to avoid succumbing to a major environmental disaster, but also the responsibility of civil society, citizens, with our behavior and our purchasing decisions we can tilt the balance on the side of survival or not of the planet.
However small our gesture may seem when rejecting a plastic bag, separating garbage or avoiding toothpaste with microplastics, together with that of millions of people, it may mean that this change of attitude helps change the world.
Let's look at the garbage not as we used to do it, as something disgusting that we have to get away from us as soon as possible, without worrying about where and how it ends, but as an opportunity to change things, improve our way of life and do, among all, a more sustainable world.
This exhibition ‘SUSTAINABLE’ aims to approach us in a different way to the world of garbage and the processes of storage and recycling of waste, looking for an artistic interest in the waste of the consumer society. Photography has the ability to approach the most current problems from a documentary point of view, but it also reveals itself to be extremely useful when showing us from unusual angles, close to abstraction and connected with contemporary art, those themes that occupy the headlines of news.
With this project I have tried to vindicate the role of photography in the 21st century as a tool at the service of knowledge of current issues without renouncing the aesthetic interest that leads us to question what that image is and above all, what idea is behind that image.
