Event Description : ART EXHIBITION "Seeds to Flowers" a group show of traditional Indian folk and tribal art.
"Mati" represents the pure feel and the smell of mother earth.
The works included in this exhibition, therefore, subliminally display preservation of our cultural heritage. It is a fusion of ingenious works of our folk community - coming together to speak for the 'solidarity in diversity' of our nation. They are the Bengal Pattachitra-.approximated to be dating back to the 13th century,this artform is known for its intricate details as well as mythological narratives and folktales incribed in it. ,pinguli chitrakati a unique style of paintings practised in the ancient village of pingulli, in the tribal regions of the state of maharashtra . A series of paintings decribing traditiional stories is claimed to be with the thakar community for over 500 years. the stories belong to ramayana , mahabharata and nandi puran. , harmoniuos tribal art from Warli tribe which is one of the largest in india , located outside of mumbai.the warli culture is centered around the concept of mother nature and elements of nature are often focal points depicted in warli paintings. farming is their main way of life and the paintings revolve around harvest and the festivities surronding harvest. , some lyrical - poetic execution of the simplicity of the hazaribagh tribal art from Jharkhand , the sahrai and khovar folk art draws heavily from the forest life , saura tribal art - a form of wall murals and yatripat from raghurajpur , Orissa , exclusive Gond art depicting the tree of life and green mountain from madhya pradesh , Pichwai is a traditional art having its origin in Rajasthan, it features intricate paintings portraying lord krishna ( shrinathji) which is done on fabric using dark rich hues. ,the delicate Chamba rumal depicting the raas lila of krishna and radha from Himachal , the head hunting sculptures of Nagaland , Bhutta sculptures from karnataka and the leather puppets from Andhra Pradesh. All merged together to form a beautiful collaboration.
