Event Description : ART EXHIBITION "Pichvai Tradition & Beyond"
Bikaner House is the essence of Rajasthan. The central space in it’s traditional splendor combined with the minimal Art Gallery is an ideal setting for Pichvai Tradition and Beyond to showcase it’s journey from the revival of an intricate traditional art form to a versatile modern contemporary minimal interpretation well suited to a different aesthetic.
The focus of this show is the conversation between the works of art and the spaces they inhabit. Some sections of this show will have the traditional works while others will have the works hung as installations with interesting wall mounting techniques.
The upcoming show moves away from traditions largely highlighting the interventions by Pooja Singhal to show Pichvais in their modern avatar.
