Event Description : ART EXHIBITION : Gallery Sree Arts presents ''Yes, No, Maybe'' Solo show of paintings by Savya Jain

The artist, Savya Jain, is giving an ode to Jackson Pollock who was a famous American artist of 20th century and revolutionized the world of modern art with his unique abstract painting technique, which itself is the theme of the exhibition.

“Yes, No, Maybe” will be Savya Jain’s first solo exhibition and it is a great honor to start with material that is incredibly personal. She says "I draw inspiration from the seemingly mundane, the drudgery that is the everyday world and transform it into unbound, surrealistic possibilities."

Savya started painting when she was 3 years old. Her interests varied from jewelry design to fashion in her younger days and she went on to study interior architecture. Her background and training culminated in making her the visual artist, she is today. The eclectic methodologies have resulted in artwork that is provocative and invigorating.

Is it a horse, or is it a cloud burst? What is it that you see? Abstract art is different for every individual; it is actuated by the beholder. It becomes yours when you interact with it. The title of the show is aptly used in this context as if the artist applies just a black line to describe her feelings, so it depends upon the onlookers that this black indicates actually what meaning? Is that color indicates positivity which means YES, does it indicates negative thoughts NO, or a blend of certainity and uncertainity MAYBE.

Savya draws inspiration from the seemingly mundane, the drudgery that is the everyday world and transform it into unbound, surrealistic possibilities. Jackson Pollock-esque influences will be apparent to the initiated; the gentle brushstrokes crescendo into intense, invigorating and stark creations lending the fleeting feeling of escape.

She have always been given the liberty to speak her mind and her medium allows her to extend that further in a search not limited by a destination. If we talk about her paintings, the greatness of these paintings lies in developing one of the most radical abstract styles inspired by the great American artist, detaching line from color, redefining the categories of drawing and painting and finding new means to describe pictoral space. This art form avoids any clear and distinct points of emphasis, or any identifiable parts within the canvas being used to create the piece. The designs and images which were created using this style of painting, really had no relation to the size of the canvas that was workedon; the lack of dimensions, and disregard for size of the drawings, were some unique features which this form of art captured. If we sees Savya's paintings, they are self-discovery, every good artist paints what she is.

“Yes, No, Maybe” will take you to a place where everything, for that moment, is limitless.

Curator Jitendra Padam Jain quotes "I believe that Savya's paintings has a life of their own and she would just discover what that life was. So she felt that by painting on all four sides, it would help her see what that painting was going to become.''
