Event Description : Russian International News Agency ‘Sputnik News’ (www.sputniknews.com) invites you to a  photo exhibition of the selected entries for the year 2018 of the 4th Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest (www.stenincontest.com) 

Stenin Photo Contest is held under the aegis of the Russian Commission for UNESCO. The exhibition of photographs of the 4thAndrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest’s finalists opened in the United Nations office in New York in November 2018. Selected entries of the photo contest have been exhibited across the world in all major cities including in Athens, Madrid, Istanbul, Shanghai, Warsaw, Mexico, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Beirut and Budapest.

This is the first time that the entries of Stenin Photo contest will be exhibited in India. 

We are also pleased to inform that two young Indian Photographers from India who participated in the photo contest, Ajay Kumar from Lucknow and Amit Moulick from Kolkata were awarded prizes in different categories. They were invited to Moscow for the award ceremony where Russian Prime Minister Dimitri Medvedev felicitated the winners with awards.

Main goal of the annually held Stenin Photo Contest is to promote young photographers and draw public attention to the challenges of modern photojournalism. In 2018, around 6000 entries by young photojournalists from 77 countries were received for the contest.  Andrei Stenin was an experienced military Russian photojournalist having worked in such hotspots as Egypt, Syria, Libya, the Gaza Strip and other locations. He won "Silver Camera" prize in 2010 and 2013. He was killed in August 2014 in the line of duty.

Russian international news agency Sputnik, which is one of the world's largest media, operates  in more than 30 languages, analog and digital broadcasting in Russian, English, and French in 80 cities of the world and on the Internet. The audience of Sputnik information resources is more than 50 million visitors per month; the number of subscribers to the Sputnik China account at Weibo reaches almost 9 million. More than a thousand people of dozens of nationalities work in 22 editorial centers around the world. Parent Company of the Group is known as MIA “Rossiya Segodnya”.
