Event Description : ART EXHIBITION “Multiple Encounters” group show of printmaking and prints by artists Ananda Moy Banerji, Dattatreya Apte, Kavita Nayar, Moti Zharotia, and Sushanta Guha
MULTIPLE ENCOUNTERS is a group of artists, working together since - 2004. this group revolves around all aspects of art of Printmaking, and engage in various art activities trying creating more love-passion and belongingness, regarding PRINTMAKIG among all aspirants in the society
Printmaking is a very old practice, which draws wider perspectives in terms of communication, and in the process of historical chapters it has also spread its wings to various technological advancements - that is from the days of simple IMPRESSIONS to transfer of images from one surface to another to printing of books to - creating autonomous images taking the various surfaces as wood, lino, stone, cloth to the latest DIGITAL creations
Artists walking along with the growth of this Journey of Printmaking has also sought to many routes of artistic possibilities to create images characterised by charismatic possibilities over and above the other various techniques and probabilities to create images of family of world of Visual Art .
ENCOUNTERS - is a term that underscores a perfect situation to make one understand what a print could be... right from the creation of a plate to pulling out a print - its all about multiple encounters. This not only connotes or talks about arriving at a point repeatedly, it also talks about getting away from the same point and also suggests – formation of interlinked and interlocked images.
MULTIPLE ENCOUNTERS - also extends its parameter beyond traditional technical practices in the area of printed images and - thus create a series of a hundred images from - only ten drawings.
Multiplicity is in a way a mathematical formation, but a little impetus from the world of intuition, leaving aside the logical periphery, ..
