Event Description : The Capital City Minstrels - Here We Come A-Caroling

As the Christmas season approaches, Delhi comes alive with some wonderful music to celebrate this festive period. A key attraction each year is the Capital City Minstrels’ (CCM) annual Christmas concerts.
One of Delhi’s oldest and most iconic choirs, CCM has been entertaining audiences for 21 years and this season’s concerts continue that tradition. The choir has been in rehearsal since August, and while the weather outside was frightful, the mood inside was definitely delightful - singing about snowflakes, the chiming of bells and the beauty of a winter’s night!
This December, usher in the festive season with the performance “Here We Come A-Caroling”, which promises to be characteristic of CCM – diverse, entertaining and joyful. The audience will get to hear some classic carols with a twist, haunting melodies narrating stories around the birth of Christ and some absolutely fun songs that evoke the sights and sound of Christmas. The choir will perform a repertoire that includes the rousing favourite, “Carol of the Kings” to the soothing melody of Ruth Elaine Schram’s “Lullay Alleluia”. The audience will enjoy catchy versions of classics “Here we come a caroling” and “O come all ye faithful” and can relive the magic of Christmas through beautiful songs like David Haas’ ”You Are Mine” and “The Hands that first held Mary’s Child’ by Dan Forrest. Songs which evoke the sights and sounds of Christmas like Greg Gilpin’s “Ding-a-Ding-a-Dong” have the choir mimic the sound of bells, while popular artist, Enya’s, “Amid the Falling Snow” conjure up the beauty of a winter’s night. CCM will also be joined for a part of the concert by the talented Mozart Children’s Choir of India and the German

Conductors: Carolin Remy & Martina Ketterl

Piano: Dinaibo Rentta, Recorder: Martina Ketterl, Cello: Tapan Mullick, Guitar: Jimmy Thang
