Event Description : ART EXHIBITION "a glimpse of Life and Culture of Nomads of Jammu and Kashmir"
Nomads from Jammu and Kashmir are one of the most marginalized and underrepresented group of the country. There is an urgent need to unlock avenues which can lead to conversations, thus generating awareness about Nomadic life. Moreover, with the upcoming generic and standardized lifestyle, there is an imperative need to represent, document and propagate the culture of the Nomads, which is diminishing.
Here is a step in that direction. Even small conversations matter!
About the Artists:
a) Sumairha Mumtaz Choudhary: Is an architect and an artist. She works with Watercolors and oilcolors
b) Adnan Latief Kohli: An economics graduate who also travels and photographs culture and lifestyle of Nomadic community of Jammu and Kashmir
