Event Description : ART EXHIBITION "Exploration 2: from outside in" A Group Ceramic Art Show

This exposition by the seven artists is an exploration of myriad challenges that confront the ceramist personal search for creativity, identity and expression using a medium that is extremely temperamental at its very core. The group is a conclave of insider and outsider artists. Young budding formally trained ceramic artists who never tire to share their learning with others, and senior citizens who took up pottery as a hobby, only to find that ceramic art was becoming a passion for them. The artists are a coherent group of inside / outside artists who believe in the innate aesthetics and creative urge that can manifest at any age.  All artists are associated with Delhi Blue Pottery and Sanskriti Kendra.

The exposition focuses on ceramic pottery and sculpture as an art form, that challenges the artist to explore the inside and outside while remaining centered in his / her inner self. The journey meanders through the culture in which it is born and baptized by the raging fires within the kiln that finally has its say. The art concludes in the eyes of the viewer, where it finally finds its home. It is an exploration with types of clay, forming techniques, glazes and firing techniques.
