Shakespeare’s 'The Taming of the Shrew (Albeli Naar)' in Hindi
Albeli Naar, an adaptation of a modern interpretation of Shakespeare's supposedly misogynistic play that may have been Shakespeare’s veiled criticism of Patriarchy. A swaggering businessman wooed and weds a tongue-lashing shrew as a challenge.... wagering to tame her within a few months of marriage. Does he manage to do that, or does the Shrew manage to turn the tables against her macho and patriarchal husband? An entertaining look at the battle of the sexes through a tempestuous marriage.
One liner: She who could never be cowed finally met her match… or did she?
Hindi Translation: Gauri Shankar Raina
Design & Direction: Sohaila Kapur

6th and 7th October at 6:30 pm
Lalit Sehgal’s 'Hatya Ek Aakar Ki'
Hatya Ek Aakar Ki (Portrayal of a stunning mock trial of Mahatma Gandhi before his assassination. A must-see for high quality performances.)
Design & Direction: M.K.Raina
