About the Director : This dramatic play is directed by Mr. Rajeev Raj Gupta, diploma holder from the reputed Shri Ram Center, Mandi House and YMCA, worked for several productions and serials. Have done Film Making course from Institute of Moving Images, Pune with excellent grades. He is a well known choreographer also, specially works to give chance to upcoming artists to show their talent. Also done several plays and short films with very well known directors like Lushin Dubey, Hema Singh, Rajesh Babbar, Babbles Sabharwal and many more.
About the Group Sanskriti : Sanskriti Theatre Group is well known group for giving platform to upcoming artists and for the productions based on mythological events and patriotic themes. In the last 19 years (since 1999) group has been performed several dramatic plays like Shri Rama, Krishna, Durga, Mahadev, Agnisuta-Draupadi, Meera, Daanveer Karna…the unwanted one, Bheeshma, Dasha-avtar, Luv-Kush...the twin warriorany, Gauri-putra Ganesha and many more. The other forthcoming productions are Maharaja Agrasen, Gautama Buddha and Chaitnya Mahaprbhu. Sanskriti is also organizing a 14 days long Digital Ramayana Show in Kavi Nagar, Ghaziabad since 2014. The show is winner of Best RamLeela Show in UP 2014 and 2015, Best Concept design, Best Ram, Best Actor also.
About the Play Dwarkadheesh Shri Krishna …
Krishna was born and Yasoda and Nanda performed all the religious ceremonies in secret, to avoid Kansa's wrath. Kansa enlisted a demon named Putana to kill newborn babies. The demon hoping to kill Krishna with the poison she had smeared on her nipples. Krishna sucked out her life air, killing her, without taking her poison. After few years Krishna killed the demon snake Kaalia under Yamuna river.
Vrindavana worshiped Lord Indra but Krishna argued, "We do not derive any special benefit from Indra. Our specific relationship is with Govardhana Hill". This made Lord Indra angry and Indra then sent a storm to devastate Vrindavana. Krishna lifted Govardhana Hill with one finger to make the mountain into a huge umbrella.
Krishna and Balarama entered the splendorous city Mathura to meet Kansa. they came to the wrestling ring and accepted the challenge to fight Kansa's demons, Krishna and Balarama easily killed their opponents. The evil king stopped the celebration and Krishna seized Kansa, knocked off his crown and dragged him to the wrestling mat by his hair. There he easily killed Kansa, striking him with His fist.
Story moves to Dwarika, Arjuna sees Krishna’s step-sister, Subhadra. Krishna tells Arjuna that Subhadra’s swayamvara might not turn out to be favourable for him. Krishna suggests an option open only for kshatriyas: marriage by abduction. Krishna supplies a chariot and horses to Arjuna, who then proceeds to take Subhadra by force. The act causes considerable ruckus in the Yadava kingdom, and Balarama decides to kill Arjuna. Krishna, of course, intervenes, and convinces all present there that they should accept Arjuna as a good match for Subhadra. The marriage concludes.
When Yudhishthira underwent the Rajasuya Yajna, he decided that Krishna would be their honored guest. At that time Shishupala insulted Krishna as a cowherd and worthless to be honoured as a king. At the same event, he committed his 100th sin and was pardoned by Krishna. On insulting him again, which was considered as the 101st sin, Krishna released his Sudarshana Chakra on him and killed him on the spot.
