Event Description :
TALK "Land Pooling Policy"

Rapid urbanization is asserting pressure on the peripheries of our metropolitan cities fueling the need of serviced land to provide for the forthcoming infrastructure, housing and building needs. In Delhi the most daunting impediment is the availability of serviced land. Delhi has not been able to formally access any additional land supply, real estate markets are inefficient while there is unprecedented growth of informal settlements. In 2014, The Delhi Land Pooling Policy was adopted as an alternative to land acquisition, in anticipation to release the land locked and address the challenges of land markets in Delhi through private sector participation.

However, though it has merit, the Delhi Land Pooling Policy has not picked up pace. The multi-disciplinary discussion will deliberate on this and involve the public in a participatory forum

Presentations will be made by four speakers.

Chair: Prof. Anupam Saxena, Officiating Associate Dean and Director, School of Real Estate

Collaboration: RICS School of Built Environment
