Event Description : ART EXHIBITION "Khovar and Sohrai Art of Hazaribagh"
The traditional art of women artists of Hazaribagh, north Jharkhand. Khovar or comb-cut art is made during the marriage season, a type of sagraffito art using reversed slip pottery technique; and Sohrai a winter harvest art, painted as a ritual thanksgiving for a good harvest. This tradition of painting Khovar and Sohrai art is fast vanishing from the village mud house walls.

During the exhibition, two women artists, Parvati Devi, Sohrai artist from Bhelwara village; and Malo Devi, Khovar artist from Jorakath village will present a live demonstration
