Event Description : DANCE : Renowned classical dancer Radhika Ganju Sehgal to present a soulful evening of Bharatnatyam with an aim to extend her support to the children of Salaam Baalak Trust
With an aim to extend her support to generous causes of Salam Balak Trust for street children, renowned Bharatnatyam dancer Radhika Ganju Sehgal will be presenting a soulful evening of classical dance performance at India Habitat Centre here. Accompanied by Lavanya Sundaram on “vocals” and “Nattuvangam”, Manohar Balatchandirane on “Mridangam” and Rajat Prasanna on “Flute”, the artiste will dance to the tunes of some of the best classical beats which have been specifically composed for the performance.
Trained under one of the finest exponents and her guru Kanaka Srinavasan, Radhika has been working vigorously towards preserving the Indian classical traditions through her performances. The artiste has imbibed the best of the traditions and is known to grace the stage with her performances that harmoniously expresses "bhava, raga and tala"- an essential component of the classical dance form.
Radhika is an empanelled artiste of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and a grade “A” Doordarshan artiste. She has performed widely while setting her footprints worldwide. Other than India, the artiste has graced the stage with her performances in the UK, Germany, Mauritius, China, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.
Back home Radhika has won several accolades while performing at the Festival of Khajuraho, Festival at Mamallapuram in Trirupati and at the Thyagaraja Festival in New Delhi. India’s leading academy of performing arts- Sangeet Natak Akademi has also noticed the artiste’s caliber and selected her for its Yuva Mahotsav recently.
